Megan & Eric Konarske's Wedding
On June 11th, 2005 Megan Frances Wiswesser and Eric Charles Konarske tied the knot. A couple months after meeting at REI in Northville Michigan where we both worked, we went on our first date. We went to see Lost In Translation at the Emagine Theater in Novi. From there our love bloomed and...
Here it is... the ring and the beach that started it all. After placing several rings on hold all at different stores, I finally decided on this one from Helzberg Diamonds. On August 14th, 2004 I gave this ring to Megan on this beach in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard. Woo hoo! She actually said "yes!" And here begins the story of our wedding.
Finding the actual location was easy. Sure, we looked around at a few different places in the area that do weddings, but it was no real contest. Wellers in Saline Michigan had everything we wanted. It's a beautiful old Henry Ford soybean factory with wonderful gardens outside for the ceremony. Here's our pics from the first tour we did at Wellers.
Fortunately the wedding bands were easier to decide on than her engagement ring was! Hers came from Helzberg, and mine came from Orin Jewelers in Northville. Originally I wanted a titanium ring, but after discovering Tungsten Carbide, there was no other choice. Mine is the Alliance from ArtCarved. Tungsten is almost impossible to scratch, so it stays shiny and polished virtually forever.
Ahhh... the dresses. Megan shopped at many different stores at many different times and tried on many different dresses! Megan got hers at I Do Too Bridal in Plymouth Michigan. You'll see pictures of hers later. The bridesmaids' dresses (pictured on the actual bridesmaids) came from David's Bridal. The boy's tuxes came from President Tuxedo.
The invitations. We really wanted something a little bit less traditional, so we settled on these from Carlson Craft. Tiffany Zendejas from Sincerely Yours sold us these, and the compliments we received proved they were a good choice.
Our cake was absolutely delicious! It was made by Cate, the pastry chef at The Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor. It was chocolate raspberry, chocolate fudge, and lemon chiffon. Mmmmm...
We hired Rawlinson Photography to record the memories of the wedding and the engagement as well.

Also, thanks to my friend Matt McCluskey for taking pictures too. Here's his photos from the wedding.
A few other miscellaneous things worth mentioning... Megan and the moms got their hair and makeup done at Spa Julianna in Plymouth Michigan. We had a great rehearsal in the beautiful outdoors at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor. Oh, and I almost forgot, we ended up on the cover of Suburban Lifestyles newspaper from a bridal show we attended. Either we really are an adorable couple, or we just happened to be at the right place at the right time. I think we all know which one it is.

And the final result... June 11th 2005 is a day neither of us will ever forget! Click here for pics of the wedding from the table cameras and a few from Rawlinson.
